Product Sense Tips

Ask Before You Answer

Never start proposing features immediately. Ask 2-3 clarifying questions to show you think before you act. "Should I focus on user growth or monetization?" demonstrates strategic thinking.

Be Specific About Users

"Users" is too vague. "New users in their first week who came from social ads" is specific enough to design for. Pick a segment and commit to it.

Trade-offs Are Expected

There's no perfect solution. The interviewer wants to see that you understand the downsides of your proposal. "This approach means X, which has downside Y, but I think it's worth it because Z" shows mature thinking.

Practice Product Sense Out Loud

Product sense is a verbal exercise. Reading answers helps, but practicing your structured thinking out loud is what builds the muscle.
